<text>The key objective of this work is to create a comprehensive comparison between experimental analysis methods for detecting crosslinking reaction in EVA encapsulant material during PV module fabrication process. Several analytical methods, spanning from classical gel content extraction measurements over different thermo-analytic and mechanical approaches to spectroscopic analysis as Thermally Stimulated Current (TSC), have been investigated as to their ability to reveal the crosslinking state of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The basic results show that TSC complements perfectly other thermal analysis methods like as Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) to determine fundamental properties of EVA such as molecular mobility characteristics and also to monitor the crosslinking reaction. Exothermic peak as revealed by DSC analysis can be used to estimate the crosslinking rate of EVA during PV module encapsulation process as fast quality control test.</text>

<text>This paper deals with the experimental study of two box-type solar cookers equipped with booster mirrors and suitable for cooking a single family’s food. The first one has a conventional, ordinary horizontal aperture area and the second one has an inclined aperture area. The latter is a new configuration which allows for much higher solar radiation interception, resulting in better cooking performance, especially in the winter when the sun’s elevation is low. Optimum inclination angles of the booster mirrors were calculated in order to maximize the reflection of the solar rays on the absorber plates. The cooking performance of the proposed new cooker was compared with the conventional box solar cooker of the same material and surface during Winter 2013 in the Ghardaîa Sahara climate (32.39°N, 3.78°E), Algeria. According to the values of some essential thermal performance parameters suggested by International Standards and evaluated by experimental studies, the inclined aperture area improves the thermal performance of the box-type solar cooker remarkably, reducing cooking time considerably. The first and second figures of merit for the improved cooker, respectively, were 0.15 and 0.47 compared to 0.13 and 0.38 for the conventional cooker.</text>

<text>The use of naturally materials improves to reduce the life-cycle cost of building (initial cost plus lifetime energy cost). In this paper, looking for the thermal comfort inside an apartment located in an arid climate zone in Algeria, in Biskra city (35.56 N, 6.16 E) by comparing the use of two materials: the concrete (C) and the stabilized earth-concrete (SEC). The temperature variations through the walls are determinate and analyzed. In this study the wall is exposed to the maximum temperature in the two cases: transient and steady state. The mathematical formulation of the problem leads to a parabolic equation. The equation is resolved analytically and numerically by setting the appropriate boundary conditions. The resulting model applied for both materials (concrete, and SEC). The comparison of the results obtained, analytically and numerically, show that the SEC has the higher thermal resistance than concrete and the temperature difference between these two materials can reach about 5.5 °C in steady state. We have also performed the calculation of wall insulation dimensions by resolving a nonlinear system, which corresponds to the optimum thickness to ensure an adequate thermal comfort in side the flat.</text>
