This paper sets out to investigate how communicative grammar can effectively be used in settings. We try to demonstrate the relationship between grammar as a systemic component of language and how it serves communicative purposes in foreign language classes. The findings showed that learners should put the accent on the actual act of communication by appealing to self-discovery learning and activities based on communicative situations to foster communicative grammatical knowledge. The acquisition of this ability can be a device enabling learners for an effective transmission of the intended meanings through grammatical structures. Henceforth, there should be consciousness-raising among foreign language learning about the importance of communicative grammar in the process of learning/ teaching.
