طال الفصل العنصري بجنوب إفريقيا كل المجالات، كان أخطرها ما طبق في المجال التعليمي، وبالرغم من أنها عرفت نظامين إستعماريين مختلفين (الهولندي والبريطاني) إلا أن سياستهما التعليمية كانت تصب في غاية واحدة وهي دفع أطفال المجتمعات غير البيضاء خصوصا منهم الأفارقة إلى الجهل مع محدودية تعليم أطفالهم ليتمكنوا فقط من التعامل مع المجتمع الأوروبي بتعليمهم طريقة الحياة الغربية وإحترام الوقت والطاعة، وبهذا يصبحوا مؤهلين للقيام بأعماله ومتطلباته على أكمل وجه، وقد تجسد ذلك في تعليم الأطفال تعاليم الدين، القراءة، الكتابة والحساب. وقد ظلت الكنيسة الهولندية الإصلاحية تطالب رسميا بضرورة إيجاد مدارس منفصلة لأبناء العبيد والسود منذ 1676م، وقد تم لها ذلك بتأسيس مدارس خاصة بالإفريقيين في عدة مدن، وقد رأى البيض أن تعليم السود سيؤدي حتما إلى جملة من التناقضات مستقبلا، كون التعليم الأكاديمي والمهني غير ملائم لهم وسيجعلهم يتطلعون إلى رفض أوضاعهم المأسوية بمساهمته في تحرير عقولهم، بل الأصلح لهم هو التعليم الزراعي الذي سيبقيهم في حالة خدمة دائمة راضين بالعيش في المعازل ويتقبلون أحوالهم مهما كانت متردية، معتقدين بأن تعليم السود يجعل منهم عنيدين ومتمردين، مما يؤدي بهم في النهاية إلى النفور من الأعمال اليدوية. إلا أنه بالرغم من هذه السياسة العنصرية المنتهجة في المجال التعليمي من طرف حكومة الأبارتيد لم يستمر الوضع على ما هو عليه، حيث بدأت حركات مضادة وقفت في وجهها، والمطالبة بإلغاء نظام الأبارتيد الذي عبث بكل العهود والمواثيق الدولية لاسيما في مجال الحريات وحقوق الإنسان، لتنتصر هذه الحركات في النهاية مكللة جهودها بإلغاء أشد النظم القانونية وأخطرها التي شهدتها البشرية وعانت من .ويلاتها مسببة لها آلاما لا زالت آثارها بادية إلى يومنا هذا
Apartheid in South Africa affected all fields, the most dangerous of which was applied to the educational field, and although it knew two different colonial regimes (Dutch and British), their educational policy aimed one goal, to push children of non-white societies, especially African ones, to ignorance and limited education. Their children can only deal with the European community by teaching them the western way of life, by respecting time and showing obedience, and in this way they would become fully qualified to carry out their duties and requirements. This has been embodied in inculcating children the teachings of religion, reading, writing and numeracy. Since 1676 AD, the Dutch Reformed Church had been formally calling for the necessity of founding separate schools for the children of slaves and blacks, by establishing special schools for Africans in several cities, thus, the whites saw that educating blacks would inevitably lead to a set of contradictions in the future, the fact that academic and professional education is not appropriate for them and would make them look forward to rejecting their tragic conditions by contributing to the liberation of their minds. Rather, more appropriate and most worthy for them is agricultural education that would keep them in a permanent service condition, satisfied with living in secular homes and accepting their conditions, however degraded , this would make them stubborn and rebels, eventually leading them to an aversion to manual work. However, despite this racist policy, pursued in the educational field by the Apartheid government, the situation did not carry on, as counter-movements began to stand in its face, to require the abolition of the Apartheid regime that tampered with all international conventions and covenants, especially in the field of freedoms and human rights, to win in the end. The movements culminated in their efforts to abolish the most dangerous legal system that humanity has witnessed and suffered from its scourges, causing them pains whose effects are still visible today .
