برز في العالم الاسلامي شخصيات عديدة ساهمت في التصدي للاستعمار والعمل على إيقاض الوعي الوطني والحفاظ على الشخصية والهوية الوطنية، ومن أبرز هذه الشخصيات سعيد النورسي و شخصية عبد الحميد بن باديس، وقد برزت في بداية القرن 20 م دعوات للرجوع إلى القوميات المفتتة والابتعاد عن القومية الجامعة وهي الاسلام، والمقصود بالقومية العربية هنا هي :الحركة السياسية التي تدعو إلى تمجيد العرب وإقامة دولة لهم على أساس رابطة الدم والقربى واللغة والتاريخ وإحلالها محل رابطة الدين وهي صدى للفكر القومي الذي سبق أن ظهر في أوربا، ومن هنا يمكننا أن نطرح الاشكالية التالية، نظرة ابن باديس والنورسي نحو القومية العربية، توافق أم تنافر؟ هل تتطابق نظرة الشخصيتين نحو القوميات الفردية وتتطابق؟ أم نجد هناك اختلاف وتنافر وتباعد في تفكير الرجلين نحو القوميات، ونهدف من خلال هذه المقالة إبراز أسباب التفكك في جسد العالم الاسلامي، والذي مازال مستمرا إلى اليوم، وكيف واجهه وعالجه علماء الأمة وتصدوا له
