هدفت الدراسة إلى توضيح ماهية العولمة الاقتصادية، وبيان الآثار المرافقة لظهور العولمة الاقتصادية على الاقتصاد الدولي والعربي بشكل خاص، ومدى خطورة الانفتاح الاقتصادي نتيجة ظهور العولمة على مستقبل التجارة الوطنية، من خلال بيان التفاوت في المفاهيم ما بين التجارة الدولية والعولمة الاقتصادية. ولقد خلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج والتوصيات من اهمها: أن الدولة تشكل العنصر الأساسي في مفهوم الاقتصاد الدولي، بينما تشكل الشركات الرأسمالية المتعددة القوميات العنصر الأساسي في مفهوم العولمة، مكا أن العولمة الاقتصادية لأبد لها من أدوات ومؤسسات تنفذ من خلالها أعمالها المختلفة، من ابرزها الشركات متعددة الجنسيات، وترى الدراسة بضرورة دخول الدول العربية هذه الظاهرة في شكل وحدوي ليضمن لها القوة والديمومة في ظل التحديات التي تفرضها، والعمل على خلق أنموذج قادر على فرض خصوصيته في نطاق العولمة.

كانت العربية من أكثر لغات العالم تأثيرا في ثقافة وحضارة أهل إفريقيا منذ الأمس إلى اليوم، ولها دورها الفعّال في إنارة عقول أبنائها ومراقبتها حسيا ومعنويا، وهي الوحيدة التي احتفظت للنيجيريّين ماضيهم وحاضرهم، ولم تتخلف عن بناء مستقبلهم، لهذا أقبل عليها الجمع  الغفير للكتابة عنها وإسهاماتها، إلاّ أنّ جلّهم لم يتطرقوا إلى الكتابة عن التعليم عن بعد والتعليم المفتوح، ولا سيما ما يتعلق بالعربية فيها أخذا وأداء، ولعلّ حداثة ذلك المنهج أدى إلى ذلك، ويرى الباحث أن يجعل تلك من بين إسهاماته، ويري العالم ما توصل إليه المعلومات والمعارف حتى في جانب العربية في العالم الإسلامي الذي كانت نيجيريا جزءا منه، وذكرت المقالة شيئا عن ماضي العربية وحاضرها، كما قدم شيئا عن مناهج التعلّم والتعليم، وبعض من شارك في الكتابة عنها، ومن هذا إلى ضبط بعض الأشياء عن التعليم عن بعد والتعليم المفتوح نشأته وتطوره، وأقرّ بعض رؤيته وآماله فيه، ثم الخاتمة، وأتى ببعض الاقتراحات، كما أوصى الباحثين بالاهتمام بأدوار العربية وإسهاماتها ودور أهلها في هذه الديار

The Arabic language is the most influential language on the culture and social life of the Africans long time ago and up to the recent time. It played a significant role in the training of the people of Africa both intellectually and mentally. It is also a language which saves their past, present and concentrates on building their future .These and other meaningful reasons made people to concentrate on its study and write about its significance. But a great number of the writers have not written on Open and Distance learning most especially on Arabic language as a programme. This is so because of the newness of the programme in the history of Nigeria Education. The writer therefore is using this medium to submit his own contribution on the subject matter and to expose Arabic readers to the position and status of Arabic language in the Islamic world of which Nigeria is inclusive. The paper emphasizes much about the Arabic in the past and those who have written on it and have spelled out issues about open and distance learning together with its evolution and development in Nigerian content. Some suggestions are singled out on how to improve the teaching and learning of Arabic for the betterment of the language and its speakers
